This place is great, low cost high quality food. Chicken is fantastic, black beans, rice. Authentic and good. Great place.

Delicious! If you're in a hurry avoid lunch time - the line is nuts and they don't seem to have AC so it's hot, hot, hot!

I really enjoy the food here and it's very reasonably priced. You can get a quarter chicken, rice, and beans for $4.49. If you add sweet plantains and a drink it's $5.99. Then they have a condiment bar that has all kinds of goodies like chopped up tomatoes, onions, jalapeno, cilantro, and a variety of sauces. It's good, it's cheap, and it's fast.

Visited this place not too long ago, and over all, I enjoyed it and can see myself coming back. La Granja (at this location anyway) is not much to look at with its dull decor, but the food totally makes up for it. They have a little sauce bar that consists of three different sauce, one of which I can't recall, but the other two are a garlic/onion sauce and a spicy onion sauce. Both are delicious! They also offer additional toppings and condiments. The pricing isn't too bad: from what I can remember, their cheapest meal is around $5, but they go as high as around $20. They offer the usual meat and rice meals, but also have sandwiches and soups. When I was there my friend, said friend ordered the 1/4 piece chicken with rice, blacks beans, and fried sweet bananas. That, with a drink, cost her about $8-9, and her meal was prepared very quickly. I ordered the steak sandwich (they have other types too, like chicken and fish, all for the same price) with fries which ended up taking a few minutes to cook. The sandwich was HUGE, bigger than my hand, and the portion size for the fries was quite generous; definitely worth the $6.97! But I had one problem: while the steak was good, the steak was too tough to eat in a sandwich. They give you one large, flat steak on a bed of veggies. Every bite I took was a struggle, and eventually I had to remove the meat to eat on its own. I would have much preferred it if they had cut up the steak into small pieces instead. My friend thoroughly enjoyed her meal, and even recommends the seafood gumbo! I plan on trying their sandwiches again, but maybe the chicken one this time. I can see myself coming back time and time again to try out different dishes.

Stopped here to enjoy some Peruvian chicken. While it wasn't exactly the same as I've had elsewhere, it was still delicious. The sauce bar was fantastic, and I gave all of them a try. The sides were also really good. Only downsides were that the place was hot as heck inside (yes, it was hot outside, but c'mon -- turn up the AC), and there is definitely a language barrier. There was some pointing and waving until we got everything figured out.

Very good tasting grilled chicken for a reasonable price. Fast and friendly service, the only downside that they are closing relatively early for a fast food restaurant.

The obvious choice here is the rotisserie chicken, always tastes great and fresh. Try all of their daily made sauces. The garlic one is my favorite. If you like seafood, the ceviche is a good amount of sour for the seafood with onion, corn and yuca. The Lomo Saltado is a tasty beef dish. I love drinking Cola Champagne (similar to cream soda) or Chicha Morada (blue corn juice, tastes like grape juice) to pair with any meal.

Been going by this restaurant for a while. I decided to go in and try it one day and I have to say that the food was amazing. I was surprised to learn its a Peruvian restaurant. I was wondering why the prices were so high but I soon found out that it was totoally worth it. I'm Puerto Rican so I've had my fair share of Hispanic dishes. Would definitely recommend. Steak was awesome !!

La Granja is a great place to get some reasonably priced fresh food for your family. Sure the place isn't fancy but you are sure to get a satisfying latin meal here. The grilled steak combo is a favorite of mine post races. I have also enjoyed the chicken meal. Nothing I have ordered thus far has been disappointing. If you want to treat yourself, the latin desserts are quite tasty as well. It may not look great on the inside but the constant crowd should tell you something. This place is legit.

My husband and I tried out La Granja for their Peruvian chicken. The chicken itself was juicy and I really liked the flavorful seasoned skin. As for their sides, I had the black beans and rice, in which both were okay - the beans were well-cooked, but more on the bland side, and the rice was nice and moist. They also had a sauce bar, so that was appreciative, and they were not stingy with the amarillo sauce. I am glad I was able to check this place out! +juicy chicken

Really good sauces, chicken is better than average. This is like a Peruvian fast food restaurant that's a bit better. They have some really unique soups, lots of variations on chicken, steak, pork and fish. The staff was friendly enough and spoke English well. Place seemed very clean.

Here it goes! A 5-star review for a dinky hole in the wall place off of Semoran?! I'll stand behind that rating- this food is everything I want it to be and more! You know going into it that La Granja is not fine dining. You order at the counter (where your mouth waters at the sight of a dozen or more chickens browning beautifully on the rotisserie) and can't miss swinging by the sauce bar on the way to a table. I have to reiterate what many Yelpers have suggested before me- this is the totally legit, AMAZING version of Pollo Tropical. My family is Peruvian, and though many of the dishes served at La Granja are more general LatAm food, they get a lot right. Not to be missed is the lunch combination of 1/4 chicken, yellow rice and a side. Their sides range from yucca fries, to sweet plantains, and even a salad. Biting into this chicken, you will know that it's on a whole other level. The skin is salty and the chicken itself is moist and slow roasted. Have I mentioned the rice? I could eat buckets of that rice on its own! It's like my grandfather's rice- full of flavor, and probably terrible for you! Also, check out the Sautéed Beef (aka the Lomo Saltado)- a classic Peruvian dish that La Granja absolutely kills! It's got the thick cut onions, the fries, amazing beef, and more flavor than you could ever imagine. Seriously, you cannot leave without trying this! But don't be a fool and miss the sauce bar. There are fresh cut tomatoes and onions as well as an array of other sauces. I remember in college that my guy friends were obsessed with their orange sauce. So much so that there were devious plots to jump over the counter and swipe a giant jug of it! This plan had a lot of holes and never came to fruition (thankfully!). So, yes, I'm giving this not-so-great-looking spot 5 stars for what it is meant to be- a fast place to get really good basic Latin American pollo a la brasa!

Great food and their servings are huge! I got the sauteed chicken (which lasted me 3 meals because it was sooooo much). We also got the 1/2 pound grilled steak. The food was really good and flavorful and I loved the sauce bar. I had heard that they get super busy, so I stopped by around 2pm on a weekday. It was still busy but not too bad.

  • Mel R.

Had the grilled chicken, black beans & rice for lunch today. Delish as usual! The price is very reasonable for a satisfying meal. My only issue is the time in the drive thru. 30 mins is a long time to wait for fast food.

If you have any regard for your hard working taste buds, don't ever go back to Pollo Tropical after you've tried La Granja. It is the real deal. They are similar to Pollo in food selection: chicken, rice, beans, etc. But in taste and delivery: leagues apart! I absolutely love this place. The chicken is flavorful ad juicy. The beans are never watered down and are full bodied and tasty. Rice: on point. I tend to go for the number two: chicken, white rice, black beans, and a soda. I have also tried the sautéed chicken and rice, which was extremely flavorful and delicious. You can dine in or drive through. And the lunch menu is super cheap, you can get a meal for $4.50! What's not to love? If you don't here for lunch or dinner soon, you'll soon regret that you've been wasting your time on other fast food locations.

If you're contemplating between Pollo Tropical and La Granja, choose La Granja. Both establishments offer affordable chicken, beans and rice dishes, but the serving size and quality at La Granja are a hard beat. Every dish I have eaten from La Granja is well seasoned and portioned. The chicken is tender and the rice and beans are flavorful. The shrimp and peppers stir fry is wonderful, if not a little pricey. The sauce and topping bar are great additions. The garlic sauce is a personal favorite. The only thing holding me back from giving this place 5 stars, is the price of some items. It is understandable that some dishes be higher than others, but for $15+ I might choose to go to another establishment. If you're looking for a casual place to get some delicious food, La Granja is a great option!

Definitely a step up from your regular Latin fast food joints. The chicken and sauce bar; in one word Terrific! The chicken is seasoned to perfection with right amount of Spanish spices and fall of the bone tender. Sauce Bar has a variety of choices spicy, tangy, refreshing dipping choices. As a side note Its a surprise they haven't opened up others stores in other counties in Florida yet? They have so much business at the Winter Park store that walking in there on Sunday is like being in the middle of Time Square. This place is usually packed to the Brim on Sundays with limited seating space. Chaos is not my favorite setting but the for the taste of the food and consistency, I will settle every now and then for La Granja.

La Granja is always packed with Hispanics from all over Orlando for lunch break and now I understand why. Although it might seem a little sketchy for a gringo used to eating at Chipotle, I was pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu or Peruvian favorites and other Latin inspired dishes. For under $10, you can get a huge portion of a perfectly seasoned rotisserie chicken, white rice, and some plantains. It will fill you up nicely. They have a weird pump your own sauce bar that looks a little dingy and a a bunch of different onion toppings. Be prepared to know how to say your order number in spanish because they yell it out and you better be ready or some sneaky landscaper might snag your meal. Use google translate and they will appreciate it. I'll be back to try a few different things if I am in the area. Worth a shot for sure.

I just went to La Granja tonight for the first time. I had the steak meal. This place is pretty great. For less than twenty bucks, two of us ate great food. The staff was kind and thanked us for coming. The food was great. The meal came with beans and rice and plantains. So much food! There were also tons of sauces to make everything fun. I love sauces! I will definitely be back. Like every day. Forever.

Great fresh meal that is quick and nutritious! The restaurant is clean and bright. I don't speak Spanish but the staff understands what I want and the service staff is always smiling. Food not greasy and seasoned well no salt or pepper required. The sauces they make are great. My favorite is the spicy red sauce.

This is where my bro and I go when we're on the go and need some real nourishing food. I usually get the standard rice, beans, and chicken meal but every once in a while get the chicken soup with the arepa. For those who may consider ordering the arepa thinking its like the savory corn patties that are served with fillings, it is actually a sweet yellow corn patty with cheese, also known as a cachapa. I would recommend getting it because it is delicious nonetheless. The only slight criticism I can give is that they can get a little heavy on the salt at times. Other than that, I consider it to be more wholesome than Pollo Tropical and more similar to what I would cook at home. You also gotta ask for their garlic sauce and a green sauce that they offer (which I forgot the name of) if you get it to-go. A pretty legit and expanding business.

This is a nice place for some semi-quick Latin American style food. It advertises itself as Peruvian, but I feel many of the dishes can overlap with other Latin American countries. As others have mentioned, it's similar to Pollo Tropical. I used to come here a lot when it first opened back in the early 2000's. I worked across from Full Sail and it's less than 5 minutes from there. Then when my office moved around Fashion Square, I just stopped coming, and it's a shame, because I really liked this place. Even though for the past 4 years I have lived less than 10 minutes from here, this is the first time I decided to come again. I wanted some steak, and I was originally looking for a brunch place, when La Granja popped up on Yelp. I told me my wife, "Yeah, I used to love going there years ago and I don't know why I haven't been back since.". So we made the quick drive here. I remember always getting the chicken combo years ago. I don't recall the steak. The picture of the 1/2 lb steak combo didn't look that appealing to me, because it had a pale color. I went ahead and ordered it anyway, with its usual sides of black beans, white rice and sweat plantains. I'm so glad I did. It was very good. It really reminded me of a Cuban Bistec De Palomilla, which is cooked with garlic, olive oil and lime. It had grilled red onions on top, which I loved. My wife doesn't like onions, so I gobbled hers all up too. The meal was very filling and I didn't get to finish my rice and beans. For a drink, I had the Chicha Morada, which is a Peruvian purple corn drink. It's bottled and lightly sweetened, made with the purple corn, pineapple, cinnamon and cloves. The bottle's label says La Granja, so it looks like they bottle it just for the stores. There are some other interesting drinks I want to try next time. This place was also very happening. We were there for lunch at about 11:30 AM, and the line never had less than about 5 people. Everyone seemed happy enjoying their food. They had all different types of customers, from families with the little kids, to college students, to older couples. I also liked how they served food on ceramic plates with metal silverware. I tried the salad/sauce bar on the side, and really liked the onion/garlic salad on my meal. Their mild vinegary garlic sauce and a spicier version were OK. As we left, we ordered a Flan and Dulce De Leche to go. Later that afternoon, I enjoyed the Dulce De Leche, which had a nice thick caramel topping, and underneath a spongy cake soaked in the sweat milk part. Delicious!

The outside may not seem that appealing, but the food is more than adequate. This place serves Peruvian fast food. Having eaten most things on the menu, I can recommend both the chicken and the fried fish. The soups are also great. The beans are a bit on the bland side. They have several traditional sauces that are mostly vinegar-based. The service is no frills, and you order at the counter like you would in a American fast food restaurant. I have been coming here for years, and the food quality has always been reasonable. I have never had a bad meal here. If you are looking for a cheap, tasty, and fulfilling meal, you could do much worse than this place. For about the same price as you would at one of the large franchise fast food places, you can have freshly prepared food made from identifiable ingredients. Give it a try if you are in the area.

La Granja has great Peruvian-style rotisserie chicken for very affordable prices. Their garlic sauce makes the meal. Unfortunately there's no option for "Peruvian" so I had to place this under Cuban...can we get Peruvian added to the drop-down?

This is a great place to eat. The menu was like taylor made for me. They had menu from ribs, chicken, shrimp, fish...etc. It has a nice blend of Latin and Caribbean flavor. I think all the dishes came with black beans and fried ripe banana. I had a fried fish with vegie on top of it. It was great. The price was very reasonable. I highly recommend this place if ever your in Orlando. I would eat here again when I return Back.

I love the food from here and their portions are great for the price. I usually get the the grilled chicken with rice and bean and the yuca fries. They have sauces on the side that you can dip or drizzle over your food. This is a fast food joint but the people are super nice.

A restaurant/ fast food chain that specializes in Peruvian style cuisine. They serve many peruvian dishes but their staple is their rotisserie chicken and rice, which is really good and affordable at 4.99 for a quarter chicken(dark) served with rice/beans and sweet plantains. The Rice here is very flavorful most likely b/c of the chicken broth/drippings of the rotisserie chicken used in cooking the rice, beans are also very good b/c you can tell they've been stewed for a long time.

The prices are cheap/reasonable but I question the food quality/freshness and the staff. They were unable to answer very basic questions about their product and their menu such as "what is the name of the sauce on that dish," "exactly what kinds of fish are in this dish," "what is that made with." They told me a lot of the products are not in fact made on site but brought in already prepared and simply heated. It made me take a second look around to realize that although downplayed the place is a chain. Not sure I would return...there are plenty of locally owned places in the same price point where I can actually know what I'm eating!

The first time I stepped foot into this place it was so full of people and it smelled so bad i stepped right out...I was hanging out w my dad and he actually took me here for lunch not to long ago....I was like seriously it smells so bad in there..he's like come on their food is really good. And I was more than impressed let me say their food was so delicious and good I've been telling everyone about this place..the only thing I don't like is that the place smells like a used mop bucket full of old fabuloso...

My first so-so eating experience since I moved to Central FL. The food wasn't exactly terrible -- it was edible, but nothing worth writing home about. Steak? Alright. Not something that I couldn't have pulled off cooking at home, though. The french fries? Again, alright. Like I said, it was decent -- but nothing I would go out of my way to tell others to try. My issues, however, weren't so much with the so-so food. The reason why they didn't make it to 3 Stars for me? First, the drinks are by-the-can. I can understand it for the imported specialty sodas, since those are harder to get. But for run-of-the-mill Pepsi products? I paid $1.50 for a small can of Diet Pepsi that did not even pretend to last me the entire meal. I'm the type of person who likes to sip at a drink between bites, so I usually require 2-3 glasses for one large meal (my apologies to every server I've ever annoyed with my constant need for drink refills!) Second, the price. For what I paid, I expected food that was more than "meh"... and to not walk our thirsty (I know, I know. It really bothered me!) The description of the 2 Stars rating really sums it up for me -- "Meh. I've experienced better."

First time and I love it. I had the 1/2 chicken with fried Yuca and Tostones. The chicken was practically falling off the bone tender. The sides were authentic. Plus the onion and sauces bar is to die for. I tried them all. I'll be back a ton!!!!!

It's been a minute since I've been, but this used to be a lunchtime staple where I worked. A quarter chicken, and a ton of rice and beans with all the delicious onions, cilantro, and sauces you want for under 5 bucks?! Best value in town for my money. I did have a regretful experience once, when I ordered the seafood soup, but come on, I should have known better than to stray from the juicy, delicious chicken. I wish we had one of these in El Paso.

Went there for the first time with a friend and ordered the beef sandwich which was so overloaded in lettuce that it was ridiculous. The meat was kind of thinly cut and not overly seasoned, which left me to pour a bunch of different sauces on it to improve it. I was surprised to receive a can of soda rather than them having the typical free refills. I'm the type who drinks quite a bit of water, tea or refreshment while eating, didn't enjoy that much. My friend ordered some chicken with rice and beans which she proclaimed to be not bad. Would I return? It's a big maybe.

Mira! This place rocks. For me, the wait time has been a bit long usually.. but its not that bad.. its a take-a-number place with a drive thru. Chicken is crazy good.. its sliced off of some gyro rotisserie lookin thing. Rice and beans are proper.. plaintains fantastic.. and the sauces are awesome. they're saucesome, acually.. Its a chain of sorts, but it doesn't feel like it. I could eat their food every day.

Wow and wow.... I love me some chicken... Those words are almost never said from my mouth but la granja have me saying it. I love Peruvian food so I knew I was up for a good treat. The husband ended up having a quarter chicken with rice and beans and it was delicious. The chicken was so moist and the favors were just all over that chicken. Did I say I love their chicken? I had the chaufu (friend rice) which was a little salty compared to the others we have tried. For dessert we ended up have the rice pudding and flan because we couldn't help ourselves. The restaurant itself isn't much, but the reason I'd come is isn't for great atmosphere but for their food.I honestly can say that we will be back to enjoy more food from here in the future.

I absolutely love this restaurant. I was craving good, inexpensive Peruvian food since I moved from DC--there's a pollo place every few miles in Northern Virginia--and La Granja does the trick! I always get the pollo saltado with rice and fries. I crave it and would eat it every day if I could. The rotisserie chicken, plantains and beans and rice are also delish. The sauces are great and I prefer the yellow and green sauces, but they're all good. I've dined at the restaurant and have used the convenient drive thru. Just pull up to the window and place your order. It's a fast-casual atmosphere inside so nothing fancy, but if you're in the mood for some tasty Peruvian food at a good price check this place out. It's a chain with several restaurants in South Florida. They should expand!

This is, by far, my favorite restaurant in Orlando. Maybe that's saying something, but I LOVE the food here. The chicken falls right off the bone, the black beans are delicious, and please make sure to get the rojo sauce if you like something a bit spicey. Amazing! And best yet, they have a drive-thru that's fairly quick and the prices are great! I just wish they were closer to my house! :P

The food here is soooo good. I am from Miami and Hispanic and there are some days I just miss Hispanic food, La Granja is a great reminder!!! I would recommend you go there for lunch believe it is between 3 pm -5pm and you can get Lomo Saltado for 6.95$. This is steak with onions tomatoes rice and beans, and believe me you get your money's worth. I would also recommend you try Papa a la Hucaina, it is potatoes in this delicious cheese sauce, a little expense but sooo good, and believe me you wont find this dish in many places in Orlando.

Staff is sometimes questionable, but the food is AMAZING! The sauce bar is really excellent, and everything tastes fresh. The sautéed chicken or beef lunch special is the dish to try. Best 7 bucks you can spend on a meal. I work down the street and come here at least once a week.

I had been wanting to try this place for a while, so we finally went for lunch today. My husband and I each got a 1/4 chicken platter with red beans and rice and maduros (fried sweet plantains). For $5.95 you received an ample serving that included a beverage. Drinks are from a bottle or can so you get no free refills here. And for those of you who keep track - they serve Pepsi products along with some native Peruvian & Colombian sodas and juices. You order at the counter and are given a number. When your number is called you go up and retrieve your meal on a tray. The nice surprise was that the food is served on a real plate with actual silverware (although the beans did come in a to go container). I'll admit that we always remove the skin from chicken in order to save on calories but I did taste a little to sample the seasoning and it had great flavor. Even without the skin the chicken was tender and flavorful. I had dark meat & my husband had white meat. Both were juicy. My husband didn't particularly care for the beans. I thought they were fine - nothing special but certainly not disagreeable. The thing we really loved were the sauces and condiments - especially the garlic sauce and hot sauce. They were not timidly flavored by any stretch, and you definitely could taste salt, but we did not find them to be excessively salty as some previous reviewers commented. Perhaps they have cut back on the amount they use but I also like salt. Now I have eaten in restaurants in the past where the amount of salt in their food (especially eggplant dishes) has even made me pucker and grateful that my last name wasn't "Snail". I had nowhere near that kind of experience here. So it may be a real matter of personal preference. Though aren't all dining reviews? We look forward to going back again. I want to try one of the seafood dishes they have recently begun to offer. And I am intrigued by a few of their dessert offerings that I have never seen anywhere else: A "Pionono" which is a jelly roll type of cake that is filled with dulce de leche , fruit or sweet cream and an "Alfajor" which is a shortbread or sponge cookie sandwiched around dulce de leche. Both sound worth the calorie hit.

My husband and I have been here so often. We even refer to it as The Onion Place. La Granja who? You see, we love onions. We believe onions truly make the world go 'round. (Just think about it. If onions did not exist, the foodosphere would truly have a problem.) La Granja has a delicious salsa bar, but it's more of an onion bar. Our favorite one is the creamy, white onion salsa. At one point they wheeled the onion bar away and you could only ask for little cups of the various crunchy treats. Maybe there was some kind of violation they were dealing with? Luckily the bar has been back for a while now and you enjoy as much onion lovin' as you would like. Thank you. :) Besides covering your food in onions (and their garlic sauce, and their hot sauce, and even their salad dressing) you can enjoy their perfect rice and black beans. And of course their chicken is just the best. They have good sautéed fish too. Haven't tried any of the seafood stuff. Just going to stick with the simple stuff that I like. For us, the best thing on the menu: grilled steak with onions. Mmm, mmm. P.S. I like to eat the sweet plantains with their creamy "salad dressing" (the stuff in one of the big squeeze tubes). Is that weird? The sugary and salty combo is amazing.

La Granja is a place that may appear very sketchy on the outside/inside, but rest assured the food here is great. The place is a bit intimidating, a bit dirty, a bit run down of a hole in a wall, but its busy with people coming in and out for orders of their Peruvian style chicken. Inside, there are rows upon rows of chicken rotating on rotisseries in La Granja, roasting to a succulent perfection. I love looking at them spinning in the fire, with the metal squeaking as it turns around and around. The chicken at La Granja here in Orlando is juicy and flavorful, and also at a pretty good/cheap price. There is a great lunch combination of 1/4 chicken, yellow rice and a side for $4.25. In addition to fries, they have yuca, fried banana, and salad among other options. Basically, to quote my friend Mike, "it is what Pollo Tropical tries to be, but more authentic". Not to diss Pollo Tropical's chicken as it is pretty good, but La Granja's chicken just has that extra kick of flavor not found in the more mainstream fast food establishments.

The Lomo Saltado is amazing, probably the best thing there. If you like fusion, this is your cup of tea, sauteed steak fries onions tomatoes drenched in soy sauce, comes with a side of rice. Chicken's good too.

La Granja has been a favorite lunch spot of mine since my friend introduced it to me 2 years ago. I always use to pass it on my way to work. From the outside, the place looks like a typical fast food restaurant: bland, unassuming, and unappealing. When you enter the restaurant, you are are greeted by simple tables, chairs, and an overly simplistic uniform worn by the (somewhat) bi-lingual cashier. The wait time for food is really short, but you can smell the flavors of the day as your food is prepared and previous orders are leaving rich and lofty scents of latin cuisine. The best part, and what keeps bringing me back is the food. The taste is rich and the flavors are always consistent every time I order a dish. The lunch specials are reasonable with really great portions. Don't let the overly red branding and the window ads dissuade you from trying this really good restaurant! You won't regret it!

I love this place! The lunch special is great, the chicken is so flavorful and juicy. Rice and beans are good too, but the plantains top it off! Love this place, food is consistently good.

This is a chain of Peruvian restaurants that originally hail from South Florida. They specialize in their rotisserie chicken, which is juicy and well flavored. They also have great combo platter deals that include a soda, rice, choice of black/red beans, and choice of tostones, or maduros (sweet plantains). My husband also likes their sauteed steak with onions, and they also have a bar where you can serve yourself some of their great sauces...I love the white creamy sauce with chopped fresh onion! YUM! This locale also serves seafood, and beers! And your entree is served on an actual plate with real utensils if you eat in the restaurant! And this locale also has a drive through. **Also, if driving down south on the I-95 or Turnpike they also have a location at the Fort Pierce exit....this place beats McDonald's on a roadtrip!

If I didn't read the yelp reviews, I would have probably never tried this place. From the outside it's quite plain, and looks like a low-end fast food joint. However, I ventured there for some takeout after reading about their chicken. My first trip was through the drive thru, and my unfamiliarity with the menu must have been obvious. I saw some very large family meals, but all I wanted was some chicken. The voice told me a chicken + a large order of black beans and rice was about $12. I added a small side of sweet fried bananas and their starchy cousin, some tostones-all came out to $18. In the window, stone very nice employee asked me with a thick accent if I wanted sauces, and I said yes, when she asked me which ones I had no idea, so she threw in a sample of them all. I really like that the automatically quarter the chicken, so I'm not forced to awkwardly try and cut it myself, which ends with its inevitable mutilation. The chicken was delicious, better than any other one out there and at a much better price. I don't think we'll be frequenting Boston market or pollo tropical any time soon. The plantains were perfect, and the tostones were delicious when dipped in the variety of sauces. We went back a couple of weeks later and went inside this time. Again, not impressive or inspiring, but clean and again a very friendly bi-lingual staff. We had the same delicious results and my son exclaimed it "was the best chicken ever!" Pros: Quality food with fast food prices Yummy sauces Nice staff Clean Drive thru Cons: Ugly building Canned soda (no refills) Fast food dining area

Never judge a book by its cover...this establishment embodies that statement more than any other that comes to mind. That being said, this place serves up incredible Peruvian cuisine! I usually get the steak, which is grilled and topped with delicious red onions. While I prefer the steak, the chicken is nothing to mess around with. You will see them in the background on a giant rotisserie being cooked to perfect. All their meat are tender, juicy, and have amazing flavor. While you have your choice of different rice and beans, I would recommend the yellow rice and black beans combo. I have often had to pick a bay leaf out of my beans further confirming the quality of the food prep going on here. Also, the fried plantains are great! Do not forget to stop by their table of house sauces. Simply put they are very unique, delicious concoctions and I usually pour them all over my already delicious food. This place is def not your run of the mill chicken!

The only issue I have with this restaurant is that it appears constantly on the list of health violations in central FL. Don't take it from me, go to wftv.com and do a search, it is #2 on the list as of March 2010.

Really good food. They say it's Peruvian but I'll have to take their word for it. I went to the Ft. Pierce location weekly when I lived there and the food is near identical. I'd either get the pork steak special or some chicken. Be sure to throw some salsa in the rice and use the quite warm red sauce on your meats. Even my brother who is almost an anti-foodie loves the food here. I'd give it 5 stars if they still had the salsa bar and the cooking was more consistent; sometimes my pork comes out a bit crispier than I'd like. I've also heard the burger and fries are really damn good.

On the outside, this place looks dumpy but it's a good deal and some good food :) Pros: They have a cheap lunch special - 1/4 chicken, rice and beans for under five bucks if you go there before 4 p.m. I like the sauces. They have garlic (that's the best), vinaigrette and hot sauce. The spicy fish is really really good too. I think its like 11 bucks with a side of rice and maybe another side (plantains or something) and a can of soda. The sauce is SO good and plentiful and I dip my rice in it. Also, you can tell its good because everyone in the room is Hispanic. Good for the locals = yum. Cons = The white rice never tastes very good. It sort of tastes like some boxed white rice that you put on and forgot about.

We visited this restaurant recently to try it out since it says it serves Peruvian chicken. We used to live in the DC area and there are many Peruvian restaurants there that serve really good chicken, fried Yuca, and rice and beans. We found this restaurant to be OK, but not as good as the ones we knew in DC. Plus, the prices were a bit higher than other Latin restaurants in the Orlando area. Bottom line, not a bad place, but not as good as the competition.

La Granja is amazing!!! It looks a little bobo on the outside and inside (I refer to it as "the dirty chicken joint", but the food is oh-so delicious and at a great price. La Granja is similar to Pollo Tropical, but totally blows it out of the water. During the weekdays you can get a whole rotisserie chicken, white rice, and black beans for $10. My boyfriend lives in a different city, and whenever he comes down to Orlando, we almost always hit up La Granja, and he is happy to eat the leftovers the next day. When their plantains are fresh, they are soooo good (but need to be blotted with a napkin, like any other fried plantain). Their hot and garlic sauces are other gems of this hole in the wall, but totally add to the flavor experience. The food is always fresh and flavorful. Definitely try it!

I come from the DC area where Peruvian Chicken places (Or Pollo a la Brasa, as my Peruvian friends informed me) out number Taco Bells. I was excited to see this reccomended on yelp so I dragged a friend to try it out with me! The prices were excellent and the food was fantastic too! I got the 4 dollar lunch platter but substituted salad for rice and beans. The Chicken was amazing but the salad was a little heavy on the onions. Still good eats. The loss of a star comes from the fact that they only had cans of soda, but they did have lots of options. Also the sauce situation was a little confusing so we ended up grabbing a bunch and trying them all.

A more ethnic version of Tropi-grill! La Granja is a small chain of 15 stores or so, which serves primarily rotisserie chicken, steak, red/black beans and rice, plaintains, etc. I didn't see any salads or items outside of the box here. They seem to favor the combo meal options for customers, as the menu is largely a presentation of those combinations, numbered 1 thru whatever. Prices range from $3.95, for a 1/4 chicken with rice and beans, to $52.00 for a family combo meal with large sides and 8 sodas. Speaking of soda, they only serve cans. Booo! Pepsi, Sierra Mist, and some ethnic drinks like Inca Cola and Kola Champagne. It looks like a fast food place on the inside, but they serve your food on real dinner wear with real silverware. I ordered the chicken combo meal. The chicken was just okay. I had to fight for the meat, which seemed more troublesome than normal. I guess not all chickens are created equal in the eyes of our sweet savior. Red beans and rice tasted authentic, but that's hard to screw up, yah? Sadly, the plaintains were in shortage today, so I had to settle for fries. Bah. The best part about this place is possibly the sauces and sauce/salsa bar. There are 4-6 house sauces in bottles which unfortunately are not labeled(!) I tried them all though, and most were very tasty--garlic cream sauce, BBQ, spicy mayo(?) and something else. The salsa bar looked tempting, so I went 4 it. Mostly tomato/onion and herb sauces, which went well with the red beans and rice. I do need to mention that the large, wide pans which comprise this bar are uncovered and could be contaminated quite easily. They should fix that. Worth checking out if it's a convenient location for you. I wouldn't drive across town or anything. *There is a drive thru also.

Love the white rice here and the chicken. The beef stir fried with the french fries is a MUST try.

As I write this I soooooooo wish I could fly back to FL so I can eat the hell out of this place. The chicken, the ceviche, the rice and beans. Everything is delicious and made to order. There is nothing like this in Portland, OR. Please someone open a franchise over here????

A Peruvian Rotisserie with a crazy lil sauce bar, full of garlicky cilantro goodness & onion sauces to boot. The chicken is so tender it just falls off the bone, with a really nice flavor of spices and far as the black beans they are neither great, nor bad. Plantains were good, but then again it's pretty hard to screw up a pan of Plantains. The platters are very reasonably priced, so you could get a square meal for about $4, a plus, if you happen to be a Full Sail music or film student from across the street.

La Granja is oK for a quick lunch but there are certain things they can change. The rotisserie chicken I'll admit is pretty good, nice and tender, juicy, nice flavor. However, the sides, mainly the rice and beans are like dipping your tongue into a salt bath! I was soooo thirsty for the rest of the day after eating here because the yellow rice is entirely too salty and so are the black beans. I thought I might have a MSG attack...otherwise, like I said the chicken is good...
